The fire pit partition wall of the hot blast furnace at the steel plant is frequently eroded by alternating airflow, leading to defective thermal shock stability of the bricks. As a result, the outer clay bricks of the fire pit partition wall peel off, and large cracks develop in the inner clay bricks, creating a pit approximately 1500 mm high, 400 mm wide, and 300 mm deep. This pit allows cold air to directly enter the heater, causing an airflow short circuit. Consequently, the heater fails to heat the lattice bricks to the specified temperature, resulting in the hot air sent to the blast furnace not reaching the required temperature. This significantly reduces the efficiency of the hot air.
After employing our company's ceramic welding technology to repair and secure the detached clay bricks, the hot air temperature increases significantly, meeting the specified operating temperature. The welded section has been operating safely for 28 months.
