The branch tubes of the 2BF surrounding pipe at Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. have undergone thermal fatigue of the refractory lining due to prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Temperature fluctuations during multiple wind-downs have caused cracking and peeling of the refractory materials. This has led to localized overheating of the pipe body and, in severe cases, burn-through of the pipe wall.
Because of the unique structure and positioning of the branch tubes, effectively repairing the refractory lining during hot blast furnace wind-down periods using conventional maintenance methods is challenging. However, employing our company's ceramic welding repair process has enhanced operational efficiency, reduced repair duration, and increased the economic benefits for the factory.
